If dreams come true!

One morning my mother says that someone who knows my aunt will come to see me. I also get ready. In the evening the boy’s mother and sister come to meet me. I ask my mother whose these relatives are who have never woken up before. The next day the phone rings. It was the same aunty's phone. Mom answers. Aunty says we like the girl. Give me the date of the engagement. Mom asks her to wait a while. I asked whose son you have not seen nor the boy has seen me. Mom said they already know us and we know them so there is no need to meet the boy and on Saturday there will be an engagement planned so you have to be ready tomorrow then we will go shopping.

On Saturday morning after praying I asked Mom about all preparations. The day went on and all of the family gather at my place. The makeup artist has also been called to the house. I was feeling nervous in all of those situations. At that time my mother came and said to the sisters, “Keep Maheen ready. When we call, bring her”. Everyone is happy. I feel like everyone is hiding something from me. My sister-in-law came to me and said, “Come Maheen. Mother is calling you”. I look at myself in the mirror and think about how Asad disappeared. As soon as I enter the room what I see Asad sitting in front of me smiling and now I understand everything. Asad's mother sits with me and kisses me on the forehead and his siblings are also very happy. The only thing that is missing is my father who is not with me on this beautiful occasion. Asad comes and sits next to me and whispers in a soft voice, “How is the surprise?” I'm smiling angrily. Everyone is taking pictures and it's time for the ring ceremony. Asad asks for my hand and I put my hand in his hand without saying anything and the noise of congratulations echoes everywhere.

After the engagement, when everyone has gone, I ask my mother “why you did not ask me about Asad's proposal?”. She said that when you met Asad and told me about his friend, two days later I got a call from Asad and he said that he wanted to send the proposal with his mother. I told him that I wanted to meet him first so that I would know about him and your brother also want to meet him. So I called him to your brother's house and when we were satisfied, then I told him that he could send his mother now. Asad forbade me to tell you. He wanted to surprise you. After listening to all that I burst out in tears and hugged Mom and said to her that I’m so lucky to have Asad in my life. Mom wishes me good luck and said “May God bless you with lots of happiness Ameen.” Now we have to prepare for marriage as soon as possible because Asad wants to get married soon.
